2022 Winter Development
Angels Baseball is offering a seven session hitting program this Winter for those players that are serious about improving their hitting skills. The program will have specific goals: improve a player's bat path to the ball; and improve the player's power. We will use BLAST Motion bat sensors to measure a player's bat path and power. We will track a player's data at the initial session, and then again at the final session. In between, we will work on specific drills targeting each area. We will look to improve a player's bat path and power for pitches that are high, low, inside, outside; and for off-speed pitches for the older group. Each session will also include a Strength & Conditioning component that will target a player's balance and strength; two key attributes to improving one's bat path and power.
Players will meet once a week for seven weeks, with each session lasting two hours. The first 90 minutes will focus on the swing and the remaining 30 minutes will have the kids participate in a Strength & Conditioning program. We are offering one session for kids ages 9-12, and a second session for those ages 13-15 (Ages are based on a player's age as of April 30, 2022).
Location: The Baseball Zone (9125 Gaither Rd, Gaithersburg, MD)
Days/Times:
- Monday: January 3 - February 14 (Ages 9-12 as of April 30, 2022): 6:00-8:00
- Tuesdays: January 4 - February 15 (Ages 13-15 as of April 30, 2022): 6:00-8:00
Additional Items:
- Each session will be limited to 20 participants. We will open a Waiting List; and if enough demand is there, we will open a 3rd session.
- At this time, it is required for individuals to wear masks at any indoor Montgomery County place of business. If this requirement is still in place in January, we will ask that all individuals follow this rule. We cannot predict whether there will be any additional COVID restrictions; but, if any restrictions are in place, we will ask that everyone comply with the regulations. We will contact everyone as far in advance as possible with any rules that need to be followed with regards to COVID.
- All players must bring a bat and helmet.
- All players must wear sneakers
- A $50 deposit is due at Registration and is fully refundable if you cancel by 12/06/2021.
